Welcome to Montessori Magnet

Montessori is “Education-for-Life”- promoting life-long learning. Montessori Magnet is proudly part of the Hartford Public Schools Montessori Initiative. We follow Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) standards for programming, staffing and materials. Educators act as guides, individually assisting children to learn at their own pace. Students are constantly in action, exploring and discovering, based on their interests. Classrooms are mixed age groups (3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 year olds). The communities of children support one another socially, emotionally and academically; older students become socially responsive to younger students creating the foundation for future civic leadership. Children and families work with the same teacher for 3-4 years, getting to know each other and each child very well. Children emerge as independent, confident, compassionate, responsible individuals that can lead. The Montessori community develops children that will question our world and bring it to a higher level of societal responsiveness. Social reform is at the core! Come join the growing number of families who have discovered this worldwide movement in education!

Why is Montessori Magnet Right for Your Child?

There are many schools out there. The key to finding a school that inspires the love of learning is to find a school that matches your child needs. Montessori Magnet is the not the biggest school out there, nor are we the flashiest. But we are a school that puts your child and your family first.

Keeping Families Up to Date…

We keep our busy families in the loop through our updated Friday Green Bag, School Newsletters and Classroom Newsletters. This is just one way we work to build our Home-School partnership.
